As long as you have the right dictator, plenty of oil and gas, and you share the wealth you can find paradise on earth.
The question that was not asked is, are they doing any of this with debt?
Dubai looked like paradise on earth too, then the note came due.

Interesting place, not sure if it will last, but hopefully I'll be able to visit it someday.

In my 12years in the drilling industry I have seen pretty much all of the ME nations.....
This is not how I would characterise Qatar.
But then, this is CBS, better than FOX but not by much.

but, seriously, Solfest, Dubai's doing fine.
The end of the world did not materialize. Instead it was yet another boom/bust cycle the city state's been through before a few times.
It's just that, NOW, the government's not spending as much it did, or could, in the recent past!
