Nice day to trade today with a power move up in the afternoon session. That's two nice Fridays in a row.
Strange.
In this business you have to expect anything and everything at anytime. No bias allowed.

I did a little culling in the blog list today. I don't mind if you don't reciprocate a link, but if you don't post, you're just taking up space.
If anyone knows of a great trading blog let me know. I would like to add day traders who trade crude oil or any other futures contracts. Preferably ones that don't feel the need to drop the f bomb every second word. Yes I'm speaking to you Dinosaur Trader. Great trader, great writer, why diminish when you have the ability to distinguish.
While your at it feel free to tell me anything else you would like to see more of, or less of on the blog.
Have a nice long weekend.

Hi Solfest
I'm so glad to find your blog. I'm working in the oil industry now but am keen to work towards as a mid distillate trader. I would like to know what are qualities of being an oil trader? Do i need any financial related background as i'm a BA graduate. Or is there any self learning courses that I should take? REally hope you can give me some golden advise.
Thanks a million.
I would suggest you read all the books listed in the solfest recommends carousel as a start.
All of them. :)
You do not need any special skill set to trade oil over any other product, in the end you are trading numbers.
The style of trading you are going to do is the most important thing to decide. Are you going to day trade or swing trade?
Then you must formulate a trading plan, test it by sim trading, track results, and then see if you have something you feel comfortable risking money on.
People who are successful in this business come from all walks of life.
It looks deceptively easy.
It is not.

Thanks guys I'll have a look at the blogs.
Found Don Miller's blog thanks to Jules. That is the kind of blog I want to read, an individual trader who gives you a glimpse into their world.
I'm not interested in blogs where people are telling you where the market is going and why.
They don't really know and I don't really care. :)
